REVIEW: |
This review
is the first one of a series that will examine the 1984 John Mayall US Tour
featuring Mick Taylor, that started on the West Coast in January and lasted
through April. The band’s line up consisted of
Mick Taylor on guitar, John Mayall on vocals,
harmonica, keyboards and guitar, Tim Drummond on bass, Mike Gardner on drums with
special guest Little John Chrisley on harmonica on Muddy Waters Blues.
All available versions were identical:
very good…
but lossy and with fade
ins/outs between tracks, so treble frequencies were s
lightly increased and the transitions
between each song have been reworked in order for them to appear less chopped.
Also some small faults at the beginning of the recording were deleted. This is
in fact an excellent recording with all instruments clear, especially Taylor’s
guitar whose licks shine on
. Packaging is really tasty and
nice.
