REVIEW: |
After 2
months the Bluesbreakers begin their US Tour again from California, next in the
series is the April 5th Solana Beach show, where the line-up
consisted of
: Mick Taylor
on guitar, John Mayall on vocals, harmonica, keyboards and guitar, Walter Trout
on guitar and vocals, Tim Drummond on bass and Mike Gardner on drums. This
recording comes from Live At The Belly-Up Tavern which is the only lossless
version I could find of this show. Also, it’s the most complete one and with a
really good sound. Not much work needed with this excellent recording except
reworking the transitions between tracks and upgrading the beginning and the
end for each disc. This concert is one of the best of the series: the sound is
very good, the audience stuck by the musicians who are on top of their game! Mick
Taylor never plays so well as when he is challenged and in this concert with
the presence of Walter Trout this is the case; the latter sings and plays on
Dust My Blues. On this show there are 2 encores, duly recorded, which ae a
pleasure to listen to and make this a really excellent release; special notice
for All Your Love, the Magic Sam song where Taylor and Trout battle.
