REVIEW:

This is the recording of the second and final concert in New York of which lots of versions were circulating but coming from 3 sources.

Source #1 can be found on Grand Finale, (Beano 028) which is a good lossless audience.

Source #2 corresponds to The Lostbrook Tape Series - Volume 22, it is an alternative source, but

saturated so not use here.

Source #3 is the DVD published by Hercules but it only contained the end of the concert (an

incomplete Goodbye Irene plus the finale) which is tucked to the show of December 8.

This concert saw again the presence of Paul Rodgers and Ron Wood but also of Glyn Johns on backing vocals on Goodnight Irene . This volume is a rework of source # 1 to which were added Goodnight Irene, merged from the soundtrack of the video and source #1.

In detail: on Disc Obe Clapton goes back to Sad Sad Day on his medley, on Disc Two People Get Ready has Andy Fairweather Low on vocals with some digital noises repaired at 0’30. The merged version has the soundtrack of the video on the left channel and source #1 on the right. As usual, all tracks have been reworked. On Goodnight Irene Ronnie Lane was on vocals, Glyn Johns on backing vocals and Ron Wood on guitar and backing vocals, on the merged version except the first 45 seconds which are solely coming from source #1. The last bow with band introduction merged version except for the end (1’45) solely comes from the video soundtrack. Packaging is as usual, but this time the bonus tracks are not featured on the B side.

Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts are only on Discs One and Three.
