This is the recording of the first show in Los Angeles, f
or this show there were
3 sources:
Version #1 was a distant audience recording, lossless but incomplete (3
songs are incomplete).
Version #2 is coming from Rickey L. Master Series Vol 3 and was uploaded by
JEMS at Dimeadozen. It had the better sound and it’s lossless but it’s
incomplete (1 song missing, 2 songs incomplete).
Version #3 can be found on Two Nights At The Forum. It was complete, with
an average sound and lossy (it’s not used in this series).
The two interesting sources are incomplete but don’t have mutual missing
parts, so we decided to post 2 versions for this show.
Vol 08a: a mix of both sources to get the complete show: source #2
used in
priority and completed with the source #1.
Vol 08b: both sources merged to get a more interesting sound.
Here reviewed is the first source that has been speed corrected
(decelerated by -1,5%)
completed with source #2 (accelerated by +0,3%). As usual all sources have been
de-clicked and some small flaws were repaired. In detail: On Disc One, Tracks
1,2 are from source 1, 3-5,7-10,13 from source 2; Sad Sad Day/Have You Ever
Loved A Woman/Ramblin’ On My Mind comes from source #2 except for the last 3
seconds which are coming from source #1, You Are So Beautiful is from source #2
except for the last 20 seconds which are coming from source #1, Seven Days is
from source #2 except for the first 5 seconds which are coming from source #1.
On Disc Two Star Cycle is from source #2 except for the first 10 seconds which
are coming from source #1; Tracks 2-5, 7-10 and 12 come from source 2, Going
Down is from source #2 except for the last seconds from the song and the
intermission which are coming from source #1. Midnight Moonlight
comes
from source #2, note that the song gets still introduced as Bird On The Wing.
On Disc Three Tracks 2-4 come from source 2, while Layla is from source #2
except for the part from 7’21 until 9’42 which is coming from source #1. This
is an interesting concert with a new song by Ronnie Lane, April’s Fool, here
played for the first time.
Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts are only on Disc One and Three.
