REVIEW:

This is the recording of the first show in San Francisco, the longest one so far; f or this show there were 2 sources: the first one was a lossless audience recording, running too fast but more complete than source #2. The second source, coming from JEMS, had a better sound than source #1, but had some dropouts and some parts were edited.

For this project have been uploaded 3 versions (only with lossless material):
 - Vol 05a corresponding to the first source
 - Vol 05b corresponding to the second source
 - Vol 05c is a 'Frankenstein version': the most complete recording as a merge of the 2 circulating versions, which is the one reviewed here; th
is wa s an assay to get the more complete recording using both sources.

The common parts have been merged:

source #2 is on the left channel and was used for the speed synchronization

source #1 is on the right channel.

These merges took a very long time to make because there are many small speed variations in one of the recordings (or both?).

In detail, on Disc One: the Band introduction coming solely from source #2, Everybody Oughta Make A Change (merged) except for the first 5 seconds which are solely coming from #2, on Lay Down Sally Andy Fairweather Low is on guitar. Sad Sad Day/ Have You Ever Loved A Woman/Ramblin’ On My Mind was merged except 17 seconds (from 9’04 to 9’20) which are solely coming from #2, while Cocaine fades in. Don’t Talk To Me was merged except for the last 5 seconds which are solely coming from #2, Watching The River Flow was merged except for the first second which is solely coming from #2 and the last 20 seconds coming solely from #1. On Feelin’ Alright Bill Wyman is on backing vocals; note a little default at 0’06. Seven Days was merged except for the last 16 seconds which are solely coming from #1; On Disc Two Star Cycle was merged except for the 1st minute which is solely coming from #1, The Pump was merged except 11 seconds (from 4’59 to 5’10) which are solely coming from #2,
Definitely Maybe was merged except for the last 34 seconds which are solely coming from #2; People Get Ready and Going Down had Andy Fairweather Low on vocals. They have been merged except 29 seconds (from 1’45 to 2’14) and the 2 minutes intermission break which are solely coming from #1.
On Who’s To Blame Paul Rodgers and City Sirens Paul Rodgers was on vocals, they were merged except 11 seconds (from 3’35 to 3’46) which are solely coming from #2. On Boogie Mama Paul Rodgers on vocals and guitar). On Midnight Moonlight Paul Rodgers was on vocals, it was merged except for the last 49 seconds which are solely coming from #2.
On Disc Three, Layla was merged except for the first 29 seconds which are solely coming from #2 and the last 16 seconds which are solely coming from #1.
Note that Bill Wyman & Charlie Watts play only on Disc One and Three.
