REVIEW:

There is a gap from the previous show in Toronto and this one, because Taylor played a short Spanish and European tours in June and July and a long Japan tour in late July and August. This show appeared in different audios and versions and also in 2 videos; for the audio some versions were lossless, others lossy, some in stereo and others in mono, some complete and others not…

The best versions turned out to be the ones uploaded by:

- ‘Kingrue’ at The Traders Den in 2019: I call it “source #2”

- ‘hankhill’ at Dimeadozen in 2008: I call it “source #3”

These recordings are however incomplete: the beginning of Shake Your Hips and the end of the show were missing.

“Source #1” comes from a complete video of the show. It has been claimed to be a soundboard… but it was not: it was instead a good lossless monophonic audience recording.

Source #4” corresponds to another mono version from an incomplete video which was not so interesting.

Therefore, it was planned to upload 2 versions:

Vol 08a will be a mixed version to get the more complete recording with the best quality, which is the one reviewed here.

Vol 08b will be a merged version to get a better sound.

This version combines different sources to get a most complete recording.

The best one is “ source #3”: i t’s now being de-clicked and amplified. After Track 5, the channels had to be re-balanced (+20% for the left channel).

To complement it, source #1 was used but not from a video copy (which was lossy) but from cd-rs which had a better spectrum. Unfortunately, in all versions the intensity of the sound varies constantly and the result is unpleasant. In detail on Disc One on You Shook Me the last 12 seconds are from the source #1, on Disc Two on the Band Introduction #2 & Encore Break the last 49 seconds are from the source #1, while Teresa and the O utro come from source #1. We get here another excellent recording, certainly one of the best of the whole series.
