The review
Unfortunately,
both concerts from 10 and 11 May are missing in full, so this next volume is
concerned with the 1st concert from the 12 of May; there has been a
change in the line-up too, because Bernard Purdie had previous commitments and
was replaced by Jeff Allen on drums.
All the circulating audio
versions are coming from rippings of a circulating DVD. As usual, this
recording was de-clicked and its phase slightly improved. There were some
technical problems during No Expectations that had to be restarted.
Incomplete videos from 3 of the songs were uploaded on YouTube by ‘Ellen Dano’:
they have been ripped and merged with the DVD soundtracks and here they are on
Disc Two; in particular on Fed Up With The Blues-Tore Down the merge starts at
0’02, on Can’t You Hear Me Knocking & Band Introduction the merge starts at
0’15 and on No Expectations (restarted) & Outro the merge starts at 0’07.
Overall this recording is less brilliant than the previous ones, but still enjoyable.
