REVIEW: |
This new
series covers Mick Taylor 1990 European tour and starts with a re
cording that has not been
circulating widely. This is nice as a recording, but some micro noises (at the
end of Goin’ South had to be deleted, the sound amplified and the transitions
b
etween the tracks reworked; note
that Goin’ South is here cut in two parts probably due to a tape flip.
The
line-up consisted of Mick Taylor on guitar and
vocals, Blondie Chaplin on guitar and vocals, Wilbur Bascomb on bass, Eric
Parker on drums and Max Middleton on keyboards. This concert in a way is
historical because together with the following one in Wunsiedel has a setlist
that does not include Can’t You Hear Me Knocking that premiered as encore in
Munich. This is not a great recording, unfortunately, the sound being too muddy
and also before the music starts there are about 8 minutes of tuning that could
easily have been omitted, this is a frustrating recording since when there are
only applauses they can be heard in very good quality, vut when the music
starts the sound deteriorates.
