REVIEW: |
After more than a year the coalition between Carla Olson and
Mick Taylor resumed in the autumn of 1991, unfortunately only fragments of 2 of
the 5 shows are available and here we can find them, 4 tracks, the first
incomplete (but it can of course be heard in better quality in the recently
released vinyl LP of the same name) from San Francisco and one from Los Angeles.
Here the line-up consisted of: Mick Taylor on guitar and vocalc, Carla Olson on
vocals and guitar, George Callins on guitar and backing vocals, Jesse Sublett on
bass and Rick Hemmert on drums. On Part One which is in excellent sound and that
features the Slim's tracks there were some little defaults and gaps that have been
deleted and one channel rebalanced (+ 10% to the right). On Part 2 from The
Palomino Club (shortly before its closure) we get another version of Sway, a lossy
track coming from a private video, which has its channels been duplicated; for
sure this is a bad quality recording, but what can be heard from Taylor's
guitar is simply fantastic.
