REVIEW: |
Volume Seventeen has the second show from New York’s Lonestar Roadhouse in
late February 90.
You Gotta Move was published in an edited form on a promotional 3" cd-single
(Fun House FXD 5029) in Japan in August 1990 but that recording was edited.
Maidenlane's
version is very interesting because it has a better sound than the previously
circulating version which is often saturated and had a limited spectrum. The
line-up consisted of Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals, Jon Paris on guitar,
harmonica and vocals, Teo Leyasmeyer on keyboards, Emmauel Chulo’ Gatewood on
bass and Damon Duewhite on drums. This recording has now been edited, de-clicked
and both channels rebalanced (+20% to the left channel).
Note a gap (tape flip)
in Shake Your Moneymaker at 1’49.
Note that the officially released
version of You Gotta Move was edited at 4’15 (based upon on the Maidenlane
source) and around 2’30 of the recording has been deleted. In this concert Taylor
played a Robert Cray song that came out in 1983 and was covered by Albert King,
Phone Booth, which also appeared on the great bluesman last album released in
1984.
