Volume Eighteen has the first show from New York’s Lonestar Roadhouse in
late March 90. The l
ine-up was: Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals, Blondie Chaplin on guitar
and vocals, Joel Diamond on keyboards, Wilbur Bascomb on bass and Eric Parker on
drums.
This recording by Maidenlane is interesting because it
is an alternative recording to the one already circulating and
this rare version
has a very good sound indeed, the previous version although a little saturated
had the second part of Red House incomplete and very damaged. This is not the case
with the Maidenlane version though; all
songs are now being
edited, the recording de-clicked, amplified, both channels rebalanced (+30% to
the left channel) and pitch corrected (speed decelerated by - 1%).
Because of a gap after Red House due to tape flip it
was decided to separate here the discs, however no music is lost. Funnily,
during Goin’ South Tylor plays some bits of Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.
A great performance and another stunning
recording.
