REVIEW:

As a supplement to the Maidenlane recordings here are some reworked concert versions of shows that were already in circulation. These shows came to mind while comparing them to the Maidenlane recordings. Here the line-up was: Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals Max Middleton on keyboards, Shane Fontayne on guitar, Wilbur Bascomb on bass and Denny McDermott on drums. Other than the Maidenlane version, all the others checked came from the same source, but in varying quality. The show chosen to be reworked was called New York 27/02/ 88 first show because, unlike the others, it was lossless and running at a good speed. It has however been de-clicked and equalized both channels (from +35 to the right channel to +20% to the left). It was also reworked the transition between the tracks. Note that the start of Giddy Up has curious sounds, like echoes which are also on the other versions and there’s a gap at the end of Blind Willie McTell. A nice well recorded concert that presents the Taylor band in great shape.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
