REVIEW:

In this volume we get the Boston show from late May 89; f or this show two recordings were already circulating. The line-up for this concert was: Mick Tayloe on guitar and vocals, Max Middleton on keyboards, Shane Fontayne on guitar, Wilbur Bascomb on bass and Eric Parker on drums.

One (source #1) had a typical saturated sound but had the complete intro & tuning and was lossless. The other version (source #2) had a better sound but was lossy, missed a part of the intro and had some speed problems in the second disc.

The Maidenlane recording is interesting because for the first time it contains the 2nd encore which was missing in all the other recordings and the sound is good. Therefore, it was decided to create two versions: one was presented as the Maidenlane ALTS Vol 11 and the other is this one that combines all the sources to get the best sound and the most complete recording.

Source #1 had to be decelerated by -1%. On disc one, since there were some gaps between the tracks in source #2, the banter only comes from #1. At the end of the intro the announcement is repeated two times, this is not a mistake. In Red House a 32 second patch was used to complete version #1.

Lots of tests were done to find out the best combination, which proved to be a mix between the 2 previous versions, but because of speed problems on source #2, the second part of the show is a mix between the 1st source and the Maidenlane recording.

The outcome is excellent and once again t is possible to dig a great recording that besides the previously unavailable 2nd encore has also Stranger In This Town.
