REVIEW:

The Amagansett night was similar to The Grand in New York in terms of songs played; for this show there were 2 lossless recordings. The first had a better sound and contained Goin’ South which was missing on the other version. But the second version in turn had the complete encore break, therefore the first version was used as basis and the encore break added in order to have the most complete version, On the first version both channels gave been rebalanced (+20% for the right), the sound a bit amplified, little gaps edited out and the transitions between tracks reworked. There is a gap at the end of You Gotta Move (at 13’28”) as the track was split in two parts originally; some seconds of music were lost so a short fade in/out was added.

Note that since the second set was too long (over 90 minutes) so Goin’ South was positioned in the first disc. This concert was not played that well, possibly some of the players were having a bad night, as we can hear some mistakes, including Taylor that at times sounds uninspired. Bobby Keys on the other end is in top form and deviates a bit from his standard performance on Can’t You Hear Me Knocking proposing interesting frills and nuances with his sax playing that embellish the tune.
