REVIEW:

The Stones famous Brussels 1973 concerts are here, presented in a superb packaging and great remastered sound. This album can be hardly called a bootleg as the sound and production of this concert with Bob Clearmountain’s work makes it a real official release and the fact is that it could be called a pirate, anyway it is the music that matters and here we have it all in its overwhelming power and clarity for the enjoyment of the fans and collectors that have purchased it. It seems like this release has quickly become sold out, it is not known how many silver discs have been pressed though. The basic difference from the musical output between the two concerts recording has always been the sound of Wyman’s bass which permeates and drives the 1st disc while was somehow reduced to a background undefined status on the second one and that speaks volumes about the man dexterity and Bob Clearmountain technical ability as well. As is well known no audience recording exists of the 2nd show, which was mostly officially released as download album in November 2011 called The Brussels Affair and in 2020 on Goat’s Head Soup Super Deluxe. Note that the guitar solo by Mick Taylor on All Down the Line is from the 1st show. Nice looking release, too bad most of the tracks come from the 1st show though.
