REVIEW: |
This album
presents the Stones 1966 Australian tour, with well-known AM broadcasts from 2
different radio stations in Sydney and Melbourne; the sound output is not hi fi
as can be inferred by the media of the times, but not that bad either; moreover
it represents some of the existing documents of that era.
Packaging
is however great, the vinyl is bright yellow and there is an interesting large
insert inside that features a report from Go Set from April 1966: on one side a
short Jagger interview and the outcome of the band’s press conference, typical
of that era with plenty of stupid questions from wanna-be journalists. On side
two the band members description continues with interesting Brian Jones quotes
as well as Andrew Oldham, there is even a mention of the band shooting the film
Back, Behind & In Front in April, something that never happened.
