REVIEW:

Due to the lack of any official release for the 50th anniversary of the famous concert, fans continuously put together compilations trying to offer the best possible version of this famous concert; here is another release of the Altamont gig that has appeared (just for now) on a famous Stones message board taking advantage of the newly discovered Midnight Rambler soundboard version. In fact listening to a recent Joel Selvin interview available on YouTube the whole concert was recorded by the Grateful Dead sound engineer who let Selvin listen to it, but only in his living room, refusing to part with a copy of it. So what we have here is arguably the best sounding version of the show, let alone that most of these soundboard tracks are in mono and mp3 sourced. Mainly what was used here is Altamont Free Concert 1969 (IMP-N-030) where 3 audience tracks have been replaced by these soundboard sources: The Sun Is Shining taken from Some Satanic Tour Vol.2 (DAC 098), Love In Vain (a tiny cut-off [00:19-00:20] was patched with Altamont Free Concert 1969 source and newly found Midnight Rambler(two shot cut-offs [04:41-04:50] & [08:15-08:23] that were patched with Altamont Free Concert 1969). Apart from these, Jagger s comments after Live With Me come from soundboard source, while audience sounds after Gimme Shelter come from audience recording.
The liner notes claim that this is probably the longest version of this show with all the available soundboard recordings (so far) and that seems true considering just the Altamont tracks (as far as length is concerned), here the most known full Altamont releases with each time:
